A powerful magical Norse defensive protection symbol, this Viking rune stave was used as a amulet to protect against physical and metal dangers. Known as the helm of Awe, the stave would have been incised onto the front of a warrior's helmet or drawn upon their forehead. 

A 35mm diameter pewter disc covered with an embossed, (raised), Viking, Icelandic stave rune, set beneath a smoked, transparent enamel glaze. The hanger, to which the leather is attached, is finished with traditional style dragon's heads.
